The Unibet brand, operated by Kindred Group, will be introduced in Washington state through a collaboration with the Swinomish Tribe and their Swinomish Casino and Lodge in Anacortes.
This partnership will span six years, with a five-year option for renewal. Kindred and the Swinomish Tribe will jointly establish a Unibet and Swinomish co-branded sportsbook at the physical casino.
While online gambling is currently prohibited in Washington state, mobile wagering during games is permitted within land-based casinos.
The project is contingent upon obtaining licenses and regulatory approvals. It will mark Unibet’s seventh state offering sports betting services in the United States.
“We are delighted to broaden our presence in the US and to do so in partnership with the Swinomish Tribe,” stated Manuel Stan, Senior Vice President, North America at Kindred. “The establishment of a sportsbook lounge at the Swinomish Casino and Lodge will enable us to provide a top-notch sports betting experience.”
Kindred emphasized its commitment to continued investment in expanding its US operations as long as market conditions support a sustainable business model.
Across the United States, numerous non-mainstream brands face challenges in the marketplace. FuboTV, for instance, recently made the decision to discontinue its sports wagering services.
Unibet, on the other hand, maintains a presence in Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, as well as Ontario, Canada.
