GiG Granted Vendor Permit in Ontario

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has been given a vendor permit from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

This authorization will permit GiG to collaborate with operators situated in the newly regulated territory. Authorized online gambling operations have been permitted to commence in Ontario since the beginning of April this year, but need licensing. The registration granted to the supplier encompasses its B2B sports betting and player account management (PAM) systems. This permit is the 22nd license the firm has obtained, with 4 more awaiting approval in various regions.

Claudio Caruana, GiG’s General Counsel, stated: “We are delighted to be able to assist new potential partners in the province after securing registration with the AGCO, marking another significant achievement in our unwavering commitment to supporting the regulated online gambling industry.”

This news follows the recent announcement by GiG subsidiary Sportnco of platform service agreements with Caravel Entertainment Limited in Portugal and an unnamed online operator in Spain.

GiG disposed of its B2C business in 2021, selling its B2C brand portfolio to Betsson, and opted to transition to a purely B2B model, a move that CEO Richard Brown asserts has been successful.

In the previous August, Brown informed iGB that the firm had achieved substantial advancements in a brief period, laying the groundwork for future expansion. He also emphasized the evolving nature of the sector, with numerous new markets being regulated at a swift pace, generating promising prospects for B2B enterprises.

Despite acknowledging the departure of valued personnel within the B2C division, Brown conveyed contentment with the company’s strategic choices made over the preceding twelve months.
