Erwin van Lambaart Named New Leader of the European Casino Association

The European Casino Association (ECA) has declared that Erwin van Lambaart has been named as the new leader, a choice that was accepted by all associates.

Van Lambaart succeeds Per Jalden, who is retiring after eight years as the organization’s head.

Van Lambaart is a seasoned executive, having served as the chief executive of Casinos Austria and Austrian Lotteries since March 2022. He is also a member of the ECA board, a position he has held since 2021.

Before joining the gaming industry, Van Lambaart served as the chief executive of Holland Casino for six years, and held a number of high-ranking positions in the media, hotel, event, marketing and entertainment sectors.

“I recognize that serving the ECA members is a substantial responsibility at a time when the casino industry is facing difficulties,” said Van Lambaart. “The European licensed casino industry continues to face significant changes, even disruption.”

“In the coming weeks, I will collaborate with ECA members, the ECA board, and our partners to identify the priorities for our association’s future work.”

“I personally want to express gratitude to Per Jalden for his exceptional leadership of the association, and for his ongoing support, advice and guidance. I look forward to working with him in the future and wish him all the best in his new endeavors.”

The European Casino Association (ECA) has bestowed upon Jaldung the esteemed title of Honorary President in acknowledgment of his significant contributions.

“It has been an honor to serve as ECA President,” Jaldung stated. “The most valuable resource of this sector is its individuals, and I have been fortunate to encounter the most cordial reception from everyone, in all roles and positions, throughout the European and international land-based casino industry during my tenure in this position.”

“This position has not been without its obstacles, as the industry continues to confront difficult circumstances from numerous sources, but the members of the ECA, particularly the board and the new president, have been able to surmount these obstacles.”

Van Lambaart will be aided in his new role by Senior Vice President Pascal Camia and Vice President Tiina Siltanen, while Casino Cosmopol Managing Director Yared Gabretensye will assume Jaldung’s position on the ECA board, representing Sweden until the next year’s election.
