Nevada Gaming Revenue Surges in February

Nevadas gaming earnings continued to rise in February, hitting $1.34 billion, an 8.5% jump from the same time last year. This surge was fueled by growth in the baccarat sector.

Nevadas gambling income reached $1.34 billion in February, a considerable increase from $1.24 billion in February 2023. This figure is also 4.7% higher than January’s $1.28 billion, making it the strongest start to the year in Nevada’s history.

Slot machines generated the most revenue for the month, reaching $827.6 million, a 0.6% increase from 2023. Of this, $536.6 million came from multi-denominational slot machine games, and $207.6 million came from penny slots.

However, only multi-denominational slot machine games reported growth in February. All other game types within this segment saw a decrease in income.

Baccarat was the fastest-growing segment in February. Revenue here increased by 75.5% to $180.1 million. Blackjack revenue also saw a 15.6% increase, reaching $132.5 million, while craps revenue rose by 22.0% to $44.7 million.

Other areas of growth included Ultimate Texas Hold’em, which saw a small 4.4% increase in revenue to $18 million, and Pai Gow Poker, which grew by 4.7% to $10.4 million.

Nevada also hosted this year’s Super Bowl in February. The NFL season’s culminating event took place at Allegiant Stadium, where the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22.

Sports betting revenue increased as Nevada hosted the Super Bowl. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Nevada reported $16.

The amount of money made from sports wagering remained stable in the second month of the year, hitting $47.9 million. It’s important to note that football only contributed $12 million to the total.

Basketball was the most lucrative sport for the operator, generating $24.7 million in earnings. Hockey betting added another $4.3 million, and other sports brought in $7.7 million, although baseball betting resulted in a loss of $929,000. It’s worth mentioning that $23.8 million of all sports betting revenue came from mobile betting.

The Las Vegas Strip surpassed $800 million in revenue in February.

Slot machine revenue reached $381 million for the month, down 2.4%. In line with statewide trends, multi-denomination slots were the only area to report growth, with all other game types seeing revenue declines.

In contrast, table, counter, and card game revenue rose 30.3% to $419.7 million. Baccarat revenue increased 81.9% to $180.5 million, and blackjack revenue rose 20.8% to $107.8 million, were highlights. Sports betting revenue increased 9.9% to $24.7 million in February.
