MGMs betting platform will be the primary backer for Ascot’s esteemed Clarence House Chase Day. This thrilling collaboration, announced by Ascot Racecourse, will see BetMGM’s United Kingdom division helm the event slated for Saturday, the 20th of January.
The agreement revolves around the day’s centerpiece, the Grade 1 BetMGM Clarence House Chase. This competition, boasting a prize fund of £175,000 (roughly $223,000), possesses a storied past of showcasing champion steeplechasers such as Altior, Un De Sceaux, and Sprinter Sacre. This year’s running is projected to be a captivating duel between Nicky Henderson’s Jonbon and Willie Mullins’ El Fabiolo, both currently tipped for victory.
BetMGM’s presence extends beyond the main event, encompassing five additional races on the schedule. Notably, they will support the Grade 2 BetMGM Mares’ Hurdle (formally known as The Warfield), which offers a purse of £60,000.
The aggregate prize pool for BetMGM Clarence House Chase Day in 2024 has climbed to a record-breaking £415,000 across seven races. This constitutes a substantial 13% surge from the £366,400 awarded in 2022.

This news comes on the heels of BetMGM’s recent title sponsorship agreement with the Premier League Darts, further cementing their position within the sporting realm.
