Boyd Gaming Restructures Executive Team to Drive Growth and Innovation

A prominent gaming corporation, Boyd Gaming, is restructuring its executive team to adapt to the industry’s transformation and propel its growth strategy. The organization intends to optimize its managerial framework for enhanced flexibility and effectiveness.

Steve Thompson, previously the Executive Vice President of Nevada Operations, is assuming the position of Chief Administrative Officer. Succeeding Thompson is Steve Schutte, who will now supervise all of Boyd Gaming’s properties situated in Las Vegas. Schutte’s augmented responsibilities encompass the management of slot machines, guest services, and culinary and beverage departments.

Concurrently, Ted Bogich, formerly the Executive Vice President of Midwest and South Region Operations, is being elevated to Chief Operations Officer. Bogich will now hold accountability for the comprehensive operations of all 28 Boyd Gaming establishments nationwide. He will also maintain involvement in marketing, slot machine data analysis, and strategic initiatives. Filling Bogich’s prior role is Ward Shaw, who was formerly in charge of the company’s activities in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.

“These designations bolster our leadership and position Boyd Gaming for sustained achievements in the present-day vibrant and rapidly evolving gaming landscape,” remarked Keith Smith, President and CEO of Boyd Gaming.

Four seasoned leaders at Boyd Gaming are assuming broader responsibilities. These individuals have played a key role in the company’s achievements, and this strategic shift capitalizes on their knowledge to advance Boyd Gaming’s sustained expansion and effectiveness across its enterprises. Let’s become acquainted with them:

* **Chris Thompson:** A Boyd stalwart since 1983, Thompson manages a varied collection encompassing Purchasing, Operations, Planning and Development, Corporate Citizenship, Public Relations, and Gaming and Athletics.
* **Josh Schutte:** Possessing three decades within the gaming sector, Schutte contributes extensive experience to his latest role.
* **Blake Shaw:** Shaw touts 25 years in the field, having occupied high-level management positions across diverse regions.
* **Steve Bogich:** Since joining Boyd in 2004, Bogich has consistently ascended the hierarchy, culminating in this recent leadership designation.

This executive realignment comes on the heels of a robust third quarter for Boyd Gaming, with earnings hitting $903.2 million. The organization is clearly intent on growth, as demonstrated by initiatives like the Fremont Hotel and strategic alliances in digital gaming, notably with FanDuel and Boyd Interactive. Their dedication to advancement is further underscored by the Boyd Innovation Lab, a joint effort with UNLV intended to propel progress within Southern Nevada’s hospitality industry.
